At the May 2022 meeting of the Spade & Trowel Garden Club, President Mary Noel, left, presented Sharon Christopher a lifetime membership in the Central Atlantic Region of State Garden Clubs (CAR-SGC).

Members of the Seaford Boys and Girls Club learned to created floral arrangements using mostly flowers from the gardens, which they cared for in the beds behind the building.

                                                      PLANT AMERICA

Get your gardening catalogs and participate in Nancy Hargroves, president of the National Garden Clubs, Inc., signature project.  PLANT AMERICA!

            Club members visited the Botanic Gardens at Pepper Creek in Dagsboro, DE, to celebrate National Garden Week.

CAR-SGC Conference will be held at Seven Springs Mountain Resort.  November 2-3

                                          Club Objectives

 

 

The objectives of "The Spade & Trowel Garden Club, Inc." are to bring together members of the community who have a genuine interest in gardening and related activities and to afford members an opportunity to share their knowledge and experiences in growing plants and flowers, decorating with plants and flowers and to promote civic beautification.

 

The Spade & Trowel Garden Club, Inc., located in Seaford, DE, was organized in 1955 and became a member club in 1958.  This year's theme is "Plant America" - Plant America, Local Food to Share, Add Flowers for Happiness, New Members for Growth and Trees for the Environment.  The club is part of the Delaware Federation of Garden Clubs, Central Atlantic Region and the National Garden Clubs, Inc.

      The board meets the first Friday of each month in the "Woodruff Room" of the Seaford Public Library (if available).   Any member may attend the board meetings and all officers and chairmen are encouraged to attend.
