                                       "Spade & Trowel Tea Party"

On February 15, 2018, the club held a tea at "The Brick" hotel in Georgetown, Delaware.  The event was held at 2 p.m. in the afternoon.  The occasion was to help celebrate the club's "60th Anniversary."

Margaret Alexander shared with us the elements of a Victorian Tea.

A former teacher, Margaret Alexander began working for the Seaford Historical Society in 1998 on the weekends as a docent at the Ross Mansion. The Victorian Teas have since become an annual fund raiser, held in spring, fall and/or before Christmas. A Mother/Daughter tea introduced in 2017 was an opportunity for school age girls to come to tea with their mothers. At summer camps, the girls prepared and had their own tea and learned about tea customs in Victorian times.
